Aces High

The Aces finished off the high school volleyball season by playing their best game all year. Really exciting to watch and fun to shoot. There was a great energy in that old gym.

I’m getting better at timing my shots. At least I captured more usable images than the last time. While I nailed the timing and the composition in this image, the main subject is a little soft. I feel strongly that the next time I’ll be even more prepared. I’m enjoying this process of continual and visible improvement. There are many positive lessons here: Teamwork, practice, perseverance, attitude. Tonight I walked away with this: Pour your all into a situation and win or lose, you leave on a high.

Greg, great photo. While you see the main subject as being soft, I see it as depicting movement. It captures the action and the intensity of the moment.

Good point, Carolyn. Isn't it fascinating how two people can look at the
same thing yet see it differently? Thanks for posting!
